Job Description

Position Title: Facilities Assistant


Reports To: Facilities Manager


Position Status: Part-time, 3 x 10 hour daytime shifts available for Friday, Saturday & Sunday.


Starting Pay: $17 per hour


Imagine Museum is a non-profit public charity located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Imagine Museum’s mission is to elevate contemporary studio glass through research, education, and exhibitions. The Museum features works of studio glass from America and an extraordinary selection of contemporary glass sculptures from around the world. Imagine Museum has over 400 significant glass works on display from their 1500+ piece collection. The artwork is dramatically displayed throughout the 34,000 sq. ft. facility.


The Museum hosts multiple events, tours and educational programs designed to inform, inspire and uplift all who visit. Exhibitions change throughout the year to expose the viewer to new artists and new works from the collection.

Imagine Museum is looking for a Facilities Assistant to provide support for the facilities operation. The Facilities Assistant will report to the Facilities Manager.


Responsibilities:


· Manage the day-to-day maintenance and site operations of the Imagine Museum’s facilities and grounds, parking facilities and adjacent areas.


· Coordinate and monitor system performance and repairs for electrical, water, HVAC, sound throughout the Museum property.


· In cooperation with the Facilities Manager, coordinate outside contractors.


· In coordination with the Facilities Manager, facilitate painting and refurbishing of the interior and exterior of the building, equipment and furnishings.


· Manage preparation of infrastructure for events and supervise off hour project work as needed.


· Respond to all emergency safety and maintenance requests.


· Maintain a security schedule with the monitoring of cameras throughout the Museum.


· Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.


· Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.


· Perform routine, light maintenance/repair of designated facilities premises, structures, furniture, appliances, equipment and tools.


· Conducts daily inspections of facilities and note areas of concern and work.


· Maintain a preventive maintenance program.


· Communicate orally with co-workers, customers, vendors, or the public in a face-to-face, one-to-one setting, walkie-talkie, email or phone.


· Work cooperatively with other contractors, employees, and various levels of management.


· Other routine maintenance duties as assigned. Including help with event setup and takedown as requested.


Qualifications


· Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma


· Technical Certifications or Degrees preferred


· Minimum 4 years experience


· Must be able to stand for long periods of time


· Must be able to lift at least75 pounds


· Experience with commonly used power tools


· Must be able to paint, have electrical wiring ability, drywall experience, and carpentry skills


· Strong mechanical aptitude


· Honest and trustworthy


· Computer/Technology experience preferred


· Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner and interface with all levels of management


· Requires high analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work well with an emphasis on excellent service


Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
