Experiential Designer/3D Spatial Designer (Hybrid Onsite)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and driven Experiential Designer/3D Spatial Designer to join Superfly, a leader in innovative and immersive experiences across entertainment, media, music, tech and more. For 25 years we have created tentpole experiences for clients and projects such as Bonnaroo, Prince Immersive Experience, Uber, Microsoft, Lizzoverse, Nike, Southpark, The Friends Experience and more.

As an Experiential Designer, you will be responsible for designing 3D, narrative-driven spaces and experiences that captivate and engage audiences. You should have a background in 3D exhibit design, architecture or industrial design. The ideal candidate is able to concept and design elevated, narrative driven renders and is able to oversee the creative and design process from concept to production, working closely with the creative team to fabricators throughout the process to ensure excellent execution through installation.

Portfolio Is Required For Submission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative directors, copywriters, art directors, designers, client services, business development, and marketing teams
• We partner with some of the most design forward brands in the world, and looking for someone who can work within a brand’s tone, while elevating design
• Create 3D designs and renderings that communicate design intent to clients and internal teams. Passionate about creating beauty renders that exhibit phenomenal visualization skills with a keen eye towards composition, materials, lighting, palette and narrative
• Assist and give recommendations for scoping, budgeting and resourcing needs
• Manage and mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback as needed
• In partnership with the creative leads, develop innovative concepts and design solutions that meet client objectives
• Select furniture and fixtures, and work with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery
• Produce mood boards, material boards, and design documents that outline a clear consumer journey of an experience
• Keep up-to-date with design trends and best practices, sharing inspiration and insights with the team
• Attend site visits to evaluate potential event spaces and make recommendations for design and layout
• Oversee the fabrication and installation of designs, ensuring excellent execution and attention to detail
• Produce creative and designs that are on brief, on time and in budget

Knowledge and Skills:

• Passion for storytelling, culture, pop-culture, design and desire to innovate and push the boundaries of forward leaning experiences
• Thrives in and contributes to a positive, collaborative and fun work environment
• Excellent relationship-building and influence skills
• Multitasking and prioritizing with ease in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts to clients and internal teams
• Portfolio required, please be prepared to present renders, design process documents and finished project images
• Demonstrates taking initiative and a positive, team player attitude. Able to multitask and manage various work streams and projects, while finishing deliverables on time and complete.
• 5-7 years of experience in exhibit design, architecture or industrial design. Agency and studio experience required,
• Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing design through production
• Proven ability to create beautiful, compelling renders using software such as SketchUp, Rhino, 3DS Max, C4D or Unity
• Computer skills - we’re talking Google Apps, Slack
• Knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience managing and mentoring junior designers
• Self-motivated, resourceful and detail-oriented
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, spatial, exhibit design or related field perfered
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy

When it comes to deciding on compensation, there are several unique variables at play. As it stands, a fair estimate for the current salary range would be in the range of $75,000 to $95,000. Compensation decisions factors include but are not limited to experience, training, skill set, business needs, and travel requirements.
