Thompson Hine is seeking candidates for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Executive Legal Assistant in our downtown Cleveland, Ohio office. Scheduled hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for various senior-level attorneys and members of Firm leadership and/or management (“Assignments”).
Qualified candidates will have:
- Well-versed in providing legal support to Assignments.
- Exceptional writing and proofreading skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Duties include but are not limited to: drafting correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents; maintaining organized client files; entering time into the timekeeping system; assisting with the client billing process (proofread, edit, mail, etc.); and working closely with other staff and departments as necessary.
- Excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of complex executive meetings and travel logistics.
- Outstanding software skills, including proficient and advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Kofax PDF and Outlook.
- The ability to carry out duties with the highest degree of quality while maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. At least two (2) years of legal secretarial experience or administrative experience in a legal environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment at the executive support level.
2. Highly trained in client service, diplomacy, and discretion.
This position requires the employee to work on-site at the Cleveland office on a schedule determined by the Manager for the benefit of the department and Firm. This position is not eligible for remote work absent the employee’s office being closed and working in business continuity mode.
