Job Description
Overview
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer leads the Innovation Office for the enterprise. Reporting into the President, this officer level role is responsible for developing, strategizing, and planning new interventions that will drive innovation and advance digital capabilities. The EVP spearheads innovation initiative, drives the development of new products, leads an innovation hub and advances the organization’s digital capabilities. This role works closely with the marketing and business development teams to develop strategies for promoting the products and services.
Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Innovation Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify and prioritize potential areas for innovation, considering market trends, customer insights, and emerging technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create an innovation roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
New Product Development: Drive the ideation, conceptualization, and development of new products, services, and solutions. Foster a culture that inspires people to generate novel solutions with measurable value for existing and potential customers. Mentor and encourage creative thinking and experimentation to create new ways to solve work problems and seize opportunities that result in unique and differentiated solutions. Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from idea generation to commercialization, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Leadership of Innovation Hub: Establish and lead an innovation hub center of excellence within the organization. Build and nurture a high-performing team of innovation professionals; provide guidance and mentorship while creating a collaborative environment to drive growth and development. Build partnerships with external stakeholders to leverage their expertise and enhance innovation capabilities.
Digital Transformation : Evaluate the organization's existing digital capabilities and identify areas for improvement and innovation. Drive the digital transformation agenda, championing the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices across the organization. Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement digital initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and business growth.
Market and Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities and threats. Conduct market research and gather customer insights to guide the development of innovative products and services. Assess the potential impact of disruptive technologies and develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and other key stakeholders to gain support for innovation initiatives and secure necessary resources. Communicate the organization's innovation vision and progress to internal and external stakeholders, promoting a culture of transparency and collaboration.
Develop strong relationships with key partners, customers, and industry influencers to foster strategic alliances and drive innovation.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role focused on innovation, product development, or digital transformation.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align innovation initiatives with financial goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and launching new products or services in a competitive market.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into actionable innovation plans.
  • Deep understanding of emerging technologies, market trends, and disruptive forces shaping the industry.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Master’s degree in management/business, engineering, technology, etc. or equivalent management training and experience, preferred
  • Experience building a strong cohesive team & in recognizing and mentoring talent.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
  • Experience leading in a rapidly evolving environment, role modeling agility.
  • Physician with strong quality and patient safety experience, minimum 10 years. Minimum of 10 years of experience working in an innovative environment in healthcare operations, or related consulting experience in healthcare; minimum of 10 years leadership experience with change management.
