About The Role:

We are looking for a talented individual to work with our business leaders to design, orchestrate, and execute the digital product strategy for our bank. This executive leadership position involves transforming our core critical systems, developing the bank’s digital product set, and growing our banking-as-a-service (“BaaS”) business. The Chief Product Officer (“CPO”) will collaborate with the bank’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and the rest of the Executive team to build out an innovative and compliant digital banking strategy.

This leader will be responsible for business development of BaaS partners (i.e., program managers) and engaging end-customers through digital channels. Ideal candidates will be able to both effectively delegate and engage directly in problem-solving to accomplish these goals and grow the bank’s digital business. The Chief Product Officer will report directly to the CEO.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Build digital talent in the organization through a combination of developing current staff and attracting new talent
• Develop a clear and compelling digital product vision and strategy for the bank’s future and ensure that initiatives are fully integrated with the bank’s strategic planning process
• Ensure business lines align their work to the risk management and compliance objectives of the Bank
• Gather competitive, customer, market and internal business priorities to design, develop and continually optimize digital solutions that drive adoption, engagement, and growth across both digital and human customer interactions
• Negotiate relationships with BaaS partners and other third-party service providers supporting the bank’s digital strategy
• Oversee the execution of product initiatives and lead digital transformation across the bank in coordination with BaaS partners
• Oversee the business development of BaaS partners consistent with the bank’s strategy.

What You Need To Achieve:

• Manage across channels to define and deliver product performance goals for revenue, buy vs build, the total cost of ownership aligned with a superior customer experience
• Develop the business requirements for the bank’s BaaS technology and work closely with the Chief Technology Officer so that the systems meet these requirements
• Plan and build an emerging BaaS business from the ground up
• Acquire and retain BaaS partners that fit within the bank’s digital strategy, growing the bank’s business through the execution of that strategy
• Integrate and align the bank’s digital capabilities throughout the organization, driving innovation and bringing the bank to the cutting edge of banking
• Ensures an integrity and approach to the job that puts the customer first and is in full compliance with the regulatory environment
• Educate the Executive team and organization on emerging product offering, trends, opportunities, competitive threats, and new technologies that can differentiate the bank

What We Are Looking For:

• Product management experience inclusive of successful product launches as well as iterations through an agile delivery method
• Superior communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. Adept at influencing without authority. Expert at presenting ideas in a clear, compelling manner and with a high degree of executive presence.
• 5+ years of proven management experience building, motivating, and coaching a product team
• History of developing and implementing a company-wide digital product strategy

Bonus:

• 5 + years of experience, preferably in Banking or Financial Services
• Understanding of the laws and regulations governing financial institutions
• Previous Chief Product Officer or Chief Digital Officer
• Sponsor bank experience
