Job Description
Our client is seeking a Chief Operations Officer responsible for developing and implementing operations policies and procedures and overseeing management of personnel in: operations support, information technology support, debit card operations, facilities management, fraud, and branches. While overseeing branches and departments, the COO will hold employees accountable while utilizing coaching and counseling skills to keep employees engaged.


Education/Background


  • 5+ years of senior management experience
  • Facility management experience
  • 10-15 years related experience in a Community Bank ($200 million < $2 billion)
  • Solid people management skills-direct reports
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with retail branch management (more than two branches)
  • Vendor relationship management experience
  • Strong understanding of Information Technology, project management skills and, change management skills
  • Community Bank operations experience
Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer and potential customer Requests for Proposals.
  • Implement new products and services, and update current products and rates.
  • Oversee back-office departments to ensure continuity with branch network.
  • Identify operations training needs and assist in coordinating/conducting training as needed.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.
  • Serve as member of Technology Committee, 401k Committee, and ALCO Committee and Chairman of Product Development Committee as well as Act as Security Officer.
  • Answer risk management and general management questions for staff at all locations related to operations procedures.
  • Equipment purchasing at all locations.
  • Serve as member of management team to ensure efficient and integrated bank operations.
  • Conduct and serve as lead for operations analysis related to profitability, projects, trends/ideas, and innovations.
  • Perform customer and retention calls.
  • Oversee data processing, courier/maintenance operations, operations, and branch staffing. Ensure that adequate staffing levels are maintained through department supervisors.
  • Executive oversight of core processing system and internet banking system.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals.
  • Provide support and oversee any security and fraud complaints.
  • Responsible for maintenance and replacement of office equipment (specifically data processing and teller areas) and furniture at all locations.
