About The Job

Dudek is seeking an environmental project manager to specialize in energy development projects that range from renewable energy generation, energy storage and transmission planning. The individual will be self-driven with a proven track record implementing all phases of the energy development process. The candidate will have experience with early stage due-diligence, permitting projects with multiple agencies and stakeholders, preconstruction processing, construction support and O&M services. Candidates that have technical expertise in managing large complex projects to meet project milestones within schedule and budget expectations is essential. The candidate will have a demonstrated track record with overseeing multidisciplinary staff and ability to work directly with clients. This position will be associated with our San Diego office but can be fully remote and will have opportunities to work on projects throughout the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction to our clients
  • Lead the preparation, organization, and production of environmental compliance management plans, permit applications, and other environmental documents to guide compliance implementation during the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with client, field personnel, and environmental resource specialists to ensure permit conditions are implemented during construction.
  • Lead permitting strategies by taking initiative to assure client expectations are being met.
  • Mentor staff in the development of the skills in permitting and document preparation.
  • Manage projects that are fast-paced with changing requirements.
  • Prepare entitlement packages, water permitting packages, technical reports, critical issues analysis and lead stakeholder outreach programs.
  • Enhance Dudek’s professional reputation and demonstrate the ability to be creative and innovative with these tasks while representing Dudek in a professional manner
  • Foster client connections through existing client relationships and proactive business development while working with others to anticipate and pursue work
  • Work with project team members to track environmental commitments to support the implementation of permit conditions on a variety of projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, or other related field.

* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with managing environmental resource specialists and managing large project teams.
  • Experience with leading stakeholder outreach programs for energy projects.
  • Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team.
  • Strong technical writing and research skills as well as solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience managing the permitting process for energy project teams.
  • Customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment.

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions:

  • This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.

Proposed Salary Range: Project Manager - $85,000 - $110,000

Senior Project Manager - $110,000 - $150,000


*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
