We invest our clients’ capital across a range of fixed income and credit opportunities, leveraging our decades of experience navigating complex debt markets. Our flexible capital base and deep relationships with issuers have helped us become one of the world’s largest providers of traditional and nontraditional solutions for companies that need financing and investors who seek strong risk-adjusted returns.
Since 1971, our people have shaped our organization through a high-performance inclusive culture, in which we celebrate diverse thinking. We are seeking an Enterprise Risk Management Manager to join our Vendor Risk Oversight team. Within the Enterprise Risk and Quality Management (ERQM) group and reporting to the Vendor Risk Oversight lead, you will support the ongoing operations of our global third-party risk management program.
You will also be important to the program's continuous improvement strategy and execution. In this role, you will collaborate extensively with executive-level management and work with a broad range of partners across the firm.
In addition to supporting vendor oversight activities, you will support other risk management disciplines within the ERQM team, including operational risk management activities and business continuity.
Location
This role is based in Newport Beach, CA or Austin, TX.

  • You align with PIMCO's values of Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility, and Excellence, which guide our commitment to delivering the best for our clients and each other
  • Intellectual curiosity pushes you, with a dedication to professional development and staying informed about emerging trends
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments, embracing shifting priorities and enjoying the challenge of working with ambiguity
  • You are a resourceful problem-solver, approaching complex issues with a critical mindset and finding creative solutions
  • Self-motivation is a driving force for you, consistently delivering on assigned responsibilities with a focus on excellence, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Collaboration is at the core of your work style, building positive relationships and partnering effectively across diverse teams and external vendors, enabling others to reach their full potential
  • You possess high emotional intelligence, adaptability, and resilience
  • Your organizational and project management skills are exceptional, allowing you to handle multiple initiatives and tasks simultaneously
  • Navigating unstructured processes and managing multiple demanding responsibilities is a proven strength of yours
  • Your track record demonstrates credibility and trustworthiness through consistent behavior, high ethical standards, confidentiality, respect for others, integrity, and sound judgment
Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to bring efficiencies into existing processes via ongoing operational improvements and automation
  • Contribute to PIMCO's ever-evolving culture by taking leadership and participatory roles in events
  • Risk Framework Facilitation – Support the ERQM team, including the capture and update of Risk & Control Self Assessments reports, operational incidents, process flow documentation and ISO 9001 audit preparation. The candidate may also assist with the roll-out of risk framework tools and training.
  • ERM Risk Reporting – Provide support for the production of risk reporting to key stakeholders, committees and Boards.
  • Vendor Risk Oversight – Facilitate initial and ongoing due diligence of PIMCO’s third-party service providers, partnering within a subject-matter expert network to assess each vendor’s alignment to PIMCO’s risk standards.
  • Encourage a positive work environment for all employees
Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of professional experience in third-party risk management or procurement, including additional experience in any of the following: business continuity, operational risk management, or process design and improvement
