Our Newest Opportunity:
The Enterprise Architecture, reporting to the VP of IT Strategy & Governance, is accountable for developing and tailoring application design concepts, defining architecture standards, recommending how to proceed with legacy applications (replace, retire, maintain etc.) and determining roadmaps for the efficient transformation of the current application portfolio. The Enterprise Architect must have a practical approach to supporting the business and is responsible for delivering signature-ready, actionable recommendations to enterprise leaders that enable them to adjust policies and reprioritize projects to achieve target business outcomes.
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining the architectural standards for current and future information technology capabilities of the enterprise, governance processes for architecture and design, and the Enterprise Architecture engagement model. He /she should be leading the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes.
The Enterprise Architecture is responsible for helping business leaders enable their future-state business capabilities that, in turn, drive the organization's targeted business outcomes through the choice of programs, projects, and initiatives the organization chooses to invest in. The individual must be capable of practically applying existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models. Conversely, they must be able to understand, monetize and operationalize new technologies.
Principle Accountabilities
The position has direct accountability for the enterprise architecture roadmap and strategy, encompassing applications, integrations, master data and infrastructure. The position will leverage both internal and partner resources in the creation of the roadmap as well as ensuring projects conform to the overall enterprise architecture strategy.
  • Work with business peers to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps to facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Lead the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies
  • Lead the development of a roadmap and implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on the organization’s vision and business strategies.
  • Formulate, translate, advocate, support and execute strategies to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes
  • Guide and advise stakeholders about disruptive technologies and trends
  • Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with Enterprise Architecture compliance
  • Optimize operating models with technology, providing viable options towards execution challenges.
  • Lead analysis of the IT systems environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Design and construct future- and current-state business models to practically apply new and emerging technologies to drive them
  • Lead assessment of current-state capabilities, determining critical deficiencies from the required future-state of the IT enterprise, to enable the business visions of the organization
  • Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work
  • Work with business peers and lead the identification and analysis of enterprise business outcomes and drivers to derive useful business context, and in response to disruptive forces
  • Develop diagnostic and actionable deliverables that help business guide investment decisions in support of executing business strategy
  • Determine the relationship between people, processes, information, technology and things of the enterprise, and their relationships to one another and to the external environment
  • Create and maintain architectural design documents as well as relevant technology policies.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or a related field of study
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • ERP implementations
  • Understanding of Master Data Management concepts and tools
  • Excellent communications, team management, mentoring, and team development skills
  • Application integration technologies and tools
  • Ability to develop strong business partnerships
  • 7-10 years of equivalent enterprise architecture or applications leadership experience in a global organization. Strong preference for Insurance, Brokerage, or Financial Industry experience
  • Multi-platform hardware and software technologies
  • Ability to understand & define the long-term ("big picture") and short-term technology perspectives of changing business situations
