Emergency Room Technician-Emergency Department-Msh-Part Time-Night

Assists the professional staff with the delivery of services to patients in a variety of settings. Provides direct patient care, and/or one-to-one observation to selected patients under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. Assists, escorts, and transports patients.

• Assists with patients’ examinations
• Applies or assists with the application of safety devices
• Performs eye irrigations
• Prepares, adjusts, and teaches the use of crutches and canes
• Obtains and provides nourishment for patient
• Provides post-mortem care
• Communicates information to patients, families, and visitors
• Collects specimens, performs venipunctures and fingersticks
• Assists with application of casts and splints
• Performs and assists with designated procedures, using aseptic technique as indicated.
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains examining rooms
• Assists patients to get needed services by communicating those needs to the nurse
• Provides minor treatments as directed - dressings, application of ace bandages, applications of slings and ice, pediculosis

Associate’s degree desirable.

Medical Assistant Certification required.

Spanish preferred.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $23.80 - $25.09 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
