For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for ED Techs - (CNA):
- 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
- 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
- Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
- Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
The Maine Medical Center (MMC) emergency department (ED) is Maine's only American College of Surgeons Level One verified trauma center. Located in Portland, the MMC ED is also home to Maine's only pediatric emergency department. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet the needs of a high-volume patient population from Maine and New Hampshire, as well as visitors from all over the world. Patients seen in the ED may be experiencing Chest pain, Falls greater than 10 feet resulting in injury, Heart attack, Seizures, Suicidal thoughts or actions, mental health crisis, Physical attack or rape and Poisoning among other conditions.
- Position Summary
The Emergency Care Technician I (ECT II): Assists the health care team in organizing and implementing basic department activities (stocking, results retrieval, patient tracking). Assists the health care provider in patient care: (vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG, phlebotomy and simple procedures).
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors, and Maine Medical Center employees.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: N/A
- License/Certifications: CNA required.
- Experience: N/A
- Ability to read, write and speak English in order to follow simple oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
- Computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors, and Maine Medical Center employees.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.

- Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform phlebotomy.
- Education: N/A
