DSHS SCC Administrative Assistant 3


Are you an administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly demanding work environment? Are you a self-starter who is dependable and takes pride in your work? If you have a strong administrative background, this is an excellent opportunity for you to join our team with the Special Commitment Center (SCC).


Some Of What You'll Do


  • Delegated authority to pre-screen applicants for possible hire for posted positions who report to the Director of Transition and Accountability. This includes contacting each applicant, asking them job related questions, and report findings to the director. Delegated authority to conduct NCIC checks to get boat clearances of new staff who need to come on the island. This involves all areas of recruitment, such as posting vacant positions, scheduling interviews, conduct NCIC boat clearances, and the selection and appointment of employees ensuring all required paperwork is completed and turned into the appropriate departments.
  • Take minutes at meetings and provide administrative support to the meeting attendees, which include the Executive Management Team
  • Delegated authority to serve as liaison between the Director of Transition and Accountability and that position's direct reports, including relaying assignments to staff within the chain of command, tracking completion, including status updates
  • Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and files of highly confidential personnel information related to the program activity
What we're looking for:


  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced and complex work environment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Knowledge on how to operate office equipment
  • Skilled in technical/computer related functions such as word processing and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets
  • Hold valid Notary Public License or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
  • Foster a positive work environment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Who should apply?


Professionals with a High School graduation or GED


AND


Three years of progressively responsible experience in office clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.


OR


Formal education will substitute year-for-year for experience.


Note: SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees.


Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
