Director, Workforce Planning

Radial, the leader in omnichannel commerce operations enabled by technology has an exciting opening for a Director, Workforce Planning. Radial’s fulfillment solutions delight our clients’ customers by providing a seamless experience from order through fulfillment center processing and delivery. We use cutting-edge technology and analytics to optimize the e-commerce end to end processes reducing costs for our client while enhancing the customer experience.
The Director, Workforce Planning will enable Radial to achieve its mission to ensure we deliver on our client promises by leading our efforts for workforce planning, workforce management and time & attendance. You will develop and own the processes and tools to match labor with capacity needs, drive standardization and tool development across all Radial sites for consistency in managing our associates and their productivity. You will attract and develop a strong leadership team through performance management and career development tools. You will set and achieve financial targets that enable future investment to grow the business. The Director, Workforce Planning will report into the Senior Director, Workforce Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Building and Employee Engagement
- Attract, develop, and retain workforce planning, workforce management, time & attendance leadership & teams such as coaching and creating a talent pipeline
- Coach/Player leading teams by providing a framework of expectations and leaning in to support execution when needed
- Strong working relationship with VPs and Directors of Fulfillment Services to ensure a cohesive approach for managing our workforce across all sites
Workforce Planning
- Influence key stakeholders to improve planning efficiency and accuracy
- Accountable for network workforce forecasting and optimization
- Manage large data sets to deliver financial and operational results
- Develop processes and tools to match client forecasts with site capacity determining needed staffing levels
- Ensure reviews and approvals of staffing needs occur and are aligned with budgeted performance
- Perform analysis of findings/trends using statistical analysis, modeling, process documentation, profitability analysis, etc.
- Proactively determine long and short-term staffing needs and effectively communicate upcoming trends.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and partner with site leadership to implement
Workforce Management
- Partner with Business Intelligence team to develop accurate and actionable views, dashboards, metrics and forecasts.
- Create standard processes and tools to manage weekly, daily and intra-day workforce plans across all sites
- Leverage data and metrics to determine expected staffing needs and provide guardrails to manage exceptions
Time & Attendance
- Stays updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relative to time and attendance systems and educate stakeholders on emerging technologies
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to time and attendance systems and processes
- Interface with Fulfilment services leadership to define requirements, and drive execution of productivity solutions enabled through existing and emerging technology
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of our time and attendance systems and processes
- Ensure our systems, tools and processes run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently and that they meet the needs of our organization
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with vendor contracts preferred
- Sense of urgency and hands-on problem-solving skills to immediately identify and implement course corrections
- Some knowledge in operations including experience with sites orchestrating end to end flow while delivering on productivity targets
- Ability to understand, organize and thrive in highly variable volume operations while overseeing the delivery of KPIs and SLAs
- High financial acumen and ability to understand client forecasts & indirectly manage an annual workforce budget across a network of fulfillment centers
- Organizational agility and good influencing skills
- Lean thinker, continuous improvement leader
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Operations and management experience required along with workforce management experience
- Ability to lead and direct workforce planning function for over 27 locations and 7k+ associates ideally in multiclient fulfillment centers, ecommerce, direct to consumer, business to consumer (D2C/B2C) with seasonal peaks
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong people leader with proven skills in influence without authority and process development
