The Director, Regional Services is responsible for network operations and performance across the Bay Area to deliver high quality, lower cost care with excellent patient and provider service. Build relationships and foster provider engagement in network activities and initiatives to maintain and improve performance. Lead and manage a high performing team focused on outcomes, strong provider relationships and efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitals, and other providers to drive success across cost, quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and performance targets. Analyze network data to identify trends, conduct root cause analysis and develop improvement plans (examples include access analysis, outlier identification, and leakage analysis).
- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans for network growth, retention, and adequacy. Continually assess network composition to ensure adequate member access to primary and specialty care by region. Design and implement new solutions targeted toward closing gaps. Provide strategic and tactical oversight of recruiting and retaining physicians, including facilitating high-demand practice operations support and practice transformation.
- Provide leadership and management for day-to-day network operations and team, mentor and develop talent and create and manage operational and outcome oriented tracking metrics and dashboards for team performance and efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (such as Quality, Contracting, Compliance, Government Programs, Health Resource Management) to ensure operational success and prioritize initiatives and focus areas for the network. Support the design, build and implementation of new programs and products across the network weighing benefits, risks and impact to the network. Identify and coordinate network training and education needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical and business leadership at all levels to garner support, adoption and ongoing engagement of clinical and business processes, initiatives, technologies and performance goals. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and act on opportunities and issues related to the network.
Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing on-site emergency response-related activities. Actively supports regional compliance with corporate safety and wellness initiatives.
- Responsible for oversight of credentialing and the residency recruitment program.
- Provide education and support for the performance-based compensation system for Hill providers. Contribute to development of performance-based plans and education of providers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Acts as senior leader on site for communication of key corporate messages, oversight and management of routine facilities related issues, and guidance related to routine personnel issues.
- Assure effective liaison with and responsiveness to health plans on operational issues in the region.
- Develops and adheres to budgets and workforce planning and execution
- Supports marketing efforts within the region geared to increasing public awareness and enrollment with Hill Physicians doctors.
- Acts as regional contact for public and governmental relations.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous managed care experience in areas of provider relations, provider contracting, physician office support, and/or medical network development.
- BA/BS degree required, Master’s degree preferred but will consider exceptional candidates with significant, directly related work experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
- Ability to develop effective internal and external relationships, strong service orientation, and exceptional written and verbal presentation skills.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to build credibility and trust and influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization and network.
- Strong analysis skills and demonstrated project management skills required. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks and attain results through management of personnel.
- Experience with and understanding of clinical programs aimed at improving patient health highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of various Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Five years of experience managing and achieving positive results through staff. Strong understanding of management principles.
Salary Range
$128,500 - $170,500
