Director, Program Managment - Sustaining

The Director of Program Management will lead the Sustaining arm of PMO, managing teams both in North America and Europe. As a member of the PMO Leadership, you will have global responsibility within the Clinical Diagnostics Group driving transformation change, developing of new capabilities and adoption of standardized practices, while leading a team of Core Team Leaders and project/program managers to deliver desired outcomes in support of the Bio-Rad Strategic long range plan. As a seasoned professional, you will be involved with both strategic initaitives (including M&A activity) as well as tactical execution of a complex portfolio of programs, working within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, to deliver specified requirements and meet organization’s financial objectives.

You will provide leadership, as well as drive visibility and consistency of strategic initiatives, partnering with other leaders and program managers. This will include establishing and executing the next evolution of program management capabilities with full implementation of Integrated Portfolio Management (IPM) within CDG and beyond.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Align, track, and ensure proper execution of these programs as it relates to resource planning, business process changes, training, ROI’s and market data.
• Partner with functional leaders in Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Commerical Ops, Regulatory, Quality, Customer Service to deliver products and services from concept to full commercial launch and volume production/scale up. Accountable for developing, operationalizing and communicating program plans and status.
• Be a change agent to lead transformation of Core Team Leader and Core Teams.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders so that senior executives, technology and business leaders as well as staff feel they have adequate knowledge of milestones, progress and what is required of them.
• Responsible for maintaining project portfolio funnel with the Director of Portfolio, initiating new projects aligned to business priorities and long-term strategy.
• Build and lead the function globally including essential operating mechanisms of portfolio management, continuous resource management, business priority alignment and execution excellence.
• Lead teams in building trust, collaboration and breaking down barriers.
• Lead large-scale, cross-departmental initiatives that have a high degree of complexity which includes technology. Lead program management governance which includes conducting regular reviews such as key projects, tracking to defined objectives, KPI’s as well as maintaining stakeholder alignment and proactively managing risk to quality and schedule performance.
• Create effective processes for end-to-end program delivery while addressing difficult conversations, building trust across the organization, recognizing and managing cross-initiative dependencies, properly managing risks and change and ensuring the program is aligned to desired outcomes.

What You Bring

• Experience working in high paced, innovation environment.
• Experience managing global teams and senior leaders (Directors, Associate Director levels)
• Project Management professional certification through accredited university or Project Management Institute.
• Experience with integrating portfolio management structure including Core Teams and Governance Body, project performance analytics, resource planning/utilization, and financial analysis/budgeting.
• 15+ years managing complex, multi discipline programs with progressively more complex projects in the biotech or related industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant technology. Advanced technical degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience working in an FDA QSR, IVD Directive/Regulation, and ISO 13485 regulated environment.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $189,200 to $260,200 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
