Job Description

General purpose of the Position

  • Working with middle and high school students in a wide variety of activities such as group building, worship, discipleship, mission, outreach etc. to make young disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Helping parishioners to be Eucharistic people in coordinating parish life and events.


Respons ibilities include, but are not limited to:

I/ Youth Ministry:

  • Challenging our youth to respond to God’s call to Christian service in their communities
  • Providing opportunities for spiritual growth and fully developed human person in body and spirit
  • Coordinating archdiocesan/national event such as Steubenville of the Rockies, Mountain Madness, World Youth Day, March for Life, 6th Grade Conference, etc.)
  • Developing students and adult youth leaders
  • Inspiring, encouraging, and developing a relationship with God, the Church, and others
  • Helping our youth to understand and observe the Word of God, the Teachings of the Church, Catholic cultures, and traditions
  • Working closely with the Pastor and other parish staff to ensure proper vision and goals of the youth ministry
  • Planning annual retreat, Eucharistic adorations, and communities service projects


II/ Family Ministry:

  • Recruiting volunteers as needed in parish gatherings
  • Being creative in facilitating the development of parish life
  • Encouraging and coordinating parish events and activities such as annual parish picnic, Lenten fish fries, HHH 5K run, etc.

Requirements:

  • Facilitate the planning, implementation and evaluation of Youth and Family Ministry
  • A dynamic, engaging, and joyful personality with a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Must be a well-formed, practicing Catholic, obedient to the Teachings of Christ and His Church
  • Willingness to innovate and meet changing needs
  • Courage to discuss and direct our youth as they face modern day challenges
  • Possess a practical knowledge of the Catholic faith and current trends in ministry
  • Capable of delegating tasks and responsibilities effectively
  • Strong leadership skills that can provide direction, inspiration, and motivations to others
  • Promote a Christian relationship between youth and other parishioners
