Coordinator Youth Ministry, Life Teen and Edge Programs
Position Description: non-exempt Full Time
Reports to: Pastor and Business Manager
Work Hours: Varies; Estimated 30-40 hours per week; not to exceed 40 hours per week; Position is for two parishes with one Pastor. Employee will be responsible for these programs at each Parish.
Summary: The Life-Teen and Edge Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the coordination and application of the parish Life-Teen and Edge Curriculum. The coordinator works with the Youth and Young Adult CRE in administrating a parish faith formation program. The Edge and Life-Teen Coordinator is also tasked with performing basic administrative duties related to the Faith Formation Program, connecting the parents and families in the program to the larger parish community. Other responsibilities may include: preparing weekly “bulletin” to parents in program both paper and electronic media, maintain files and records of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes, schedules and coordinates the faith formation for a particular level or group or assists with this task. This will include
Edge and Life-Teen.
- Prepares and schedules or assists with sacramental programs and liturgies.
- Prepares or assists with a yearly calendar for the program and Faith Formation Commission and assists in compiling yearly parish
- Prepares or offers input on an annual budget and monthly grade level activities and updates.
- Orders or assists in ordering textbooks, teaching materials and resources for the program.

- Supports and endorses diocesan and pastoral council and faith formation commission policies.
- Monitors and orders supplies as necessary.
- Coordinates email announcements through Flocknote application.
- Collaborates with pastoral staff to integrate the total faith formation plan for the parish.
- Recruits or assists with eliciting catechists and volunteers for assigned levels or groups.
- Assists with Diocesan Appeal, Capital Campaign, and other major parish fundraisers.
- Prepares and coordinates with the pastor/pastoral administrator sacramental rites for students.
- Maintains constant communication with Faith Formation families.
- Coordinates preparation of the weekly bulletin section for Junior High & High School Faith Formation.
- Supervises assigned grade levels or groups in the Faith Formation program.
- Maintains and assists with sacramental records, notifications, and certificates on parish grounds per Diocese guidelines.
- Meets monthly with pastoral staff for planning and integration of Religious Education programs with whole parish programs.
- Advises and visits with students, parents/guardians, catechists if problems or concerns arise.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community. (Sometimes this requirement may be satisfied by a person who has
knowledge of and is willing to function in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church).
- Ability to communicate with various levels of staff and management
- Undergraduate work in Theology, Catechesis or extensive parish experience as a Youth Minister.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays due to work an unpredictable schedule when necessary.
- Three years of parish and/or administrative office experience
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Bilingual – (English and Spanish)

- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to compose correspondence, minutes and/or reports.
