Definition of Class
This position leads and directs activities associated with student support services. The incumbent provides oversight for retention and persistence efforts related to student success; plans and implements recruiting, admissions, enrollment and post-enrollment services; assists in development and execution of marketing plans; manages data to track programmatic effectiveness; and provides guidance and supervision for support staff.
Examples of Work Performed
- Cultivates corporate affiliations and partnerships with specific undergraduate degree programs.
- Plans and implements enrollment and retention strategies.
- Reviews, selects, and implements software, technology, and practices to enhance undergraduate student services.
- Analyzes data and prepares reports to develop, enhance, and monitor specific degree program goals related to undergraduate student enrollment and success, learning outcomes, academic quality, and job placement.
- Manages and tracks academic data to measure effectiveness and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Audits student records to confirm graduation eligibility.
- Serves as a liaison to represent undergraduate programs with internal and external campus partners.
- Provides guidance and supervision for support staff.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
- Plans and implements marketing strategies for undergraduate degree programs.
- Develops and plans activities and events for enhancing diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and overall student success and satisfaction.
- Provides admissions and orientation assistance to students applying to undergraduate programs.
- Facilitates academic advising, course registration, and connections with academic and career resources and services.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
- Provides guidance and supervision for support staff.
- Serves as liaison with internal and external University partners.
- Executes and manages new student orientation.
- Plans, implements, and directs student support services.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Substitution Statement:Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
