About the Role:

Prospect Schools is seeking an organized, flexible, and mission-driven Founding Middle School Associate Director of Student Supports to join us in support of our growing network of schools. The ideal candidate is fully dedicated to the mission of Prospect Schools and to supporting the success of our students and families. This person will report directly to the Director of Student Supports and be responsible for leading implementation of student culture systems and for coaching a subset of new and developing teachers to build a strong culture of learning within their classrooms.

Academics and Instruction

  • Collaborate with new and struggling teachers to develop their classroom management
  • Support the Director of Student Supports and Associate Director of Special Education to draft a schedule of interventions that meets the needs of all students
  • Observe lessons regularly and deliver targeted feedback to teachers (coaching load of up to 8 teachers); model strong instructional methods for a positive learning environment
  • Guide Grade Teams to devise and monitor high-impact behavioral support plans for students
  • Analyze data within your coaching portfolio in order to design responsive and effective student interventions and identify the highest-leverage areas to support

Student Culture

  • Observe and give feedback on schoolwide systems and classroom culture
  • Provide targeted classroom management coaching and support to teachers as needed
  • Build strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families and support new and struggling teachers to do the same
  • Support Tier 2 behavior intervention and follow-up across several grades, including systems for implementation of our ladder of response and developing streamlined, restorative responses to community violations
  • Facilitate collaborative problem-solving conversations between students and staff members
  • Ensure consistent implementation of crisis protocols and documentation

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in a diverse by design environment preferred
  • Experience maintaining strong student culture in an urgent, effective, and sensitive way
  • Proven ability to effectively unpack, plan, and execute lesson plans in a variety of content areas
  • Adept at collaborating and building community with others
  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail

The critical features of this job are described above; they may be subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 11-month contract including 2 prescribed weeks of summer vacation (from July 3rd-14th), followed by 2 weeks of remote work as assigned by your Principal (July 17th-28th). This also includes all regular school breaks and holidays during the school year
  • Employee Assistance Program with free expert support services to assist with a variety of life issues, from family care to mental health services
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) or Paid Sick Time (PST) based on date of hire and hours worked per week
  • 401(K) and Roth IRA with a 4% employer match with a 3-year vesting schedule
  • Flexible spending accounts, including Transit Commuter Options, Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA options
  • Ancillary insurance, including Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance, and Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance

Salary:

Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. The salary range for this role is from $95,000-$115,000.
