Director Of Risk Management

The Risk Management Director is responsible for providing administration, guidance, and oversight of all aspects of the enterprise-wide risk management program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited too:

• Collaborate closely with various departments to develop business unit risk management strategies and the placement and management of insurance programs (Property, Casualty, E&O, Environmental, Other) and to build efficient processes for new projects or business initiatives and assist in updating existing policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokerage partners to ensure efficiency of insurance program administration functions including claim reporting, program invoicing, policy issuance and certificate of insurance requests
• Coordinate with Legal Team on insurance-related matters, including liability and warranty claims and litigation, drafting indemnification and insurance requirements in all written agreements.
• Analyze factors concerning risk, liability, safety, and occupational hazards. Familiarity with real estate/property management/construction insurance and claims administration for property and liability.
• Perform responsibilities related to the company’s procurement of corporate insurance policies including but not limited to collecting data, data analysis, completing applications, communicating with broker partners and internal stakeholders, creating insurance summaries, managing certificates of insurance, ensuring accuracy of invoices, and processing invoices for timely payment.
• Developing and implementing our corporate risk management program consistent with our strategic goals.
• Support annual budgeting, allocation and billing processes.
• Review contracts and manage certificate of insurance requests with support from the Legal Team. Review third party certificates of insurance for compliance.
• Proactively identify trends, develop strategic plans, recommend solutions, implement risk reduction/ transfer methodologies to mitigate future losses. Draft and present risk reports, proposals and presentations to executive leadership and senior staff.
• Support the General Counsel on various risk management department initiatives.
• Respond promptly to requests for documentation of insurance regarding building operations and upcoming acquisitions.
• Create and maintain company’s risk management information system and ensure that files are accurately stored. Establish standard processes for data tracking, relevant policy deadlines, and overall summarization of insurance compliance company wide.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance or related field preferred

Experience:

• Excellent mathematical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in a risk management or legal setting, or residential/commercial services management, construction management or similar industry is a must
• Project management and work with a risk management data system experience preferred.
