Job Description

AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust LLC (AWM&T), a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association (AAFMAA), offers financial planning, investment management, and fiduciary services to members of the American Armed Forces and their families.


OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with VPBD to develop effective business plans for the Relationship Managers (RM), review team activity, and ensure continuous improvement
  • Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment
  • Assess team processes/procedures, identify and implement opportunities for improvement
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to improve prospect and client engagement activities
  • Assess individual and team performance through observation, measurement, and suggest corrective actions as needed
  • Work with VPBD to recruit, hire, and train new members of the RM team when required
  • Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development (VPBD), you will lead the business development and relationship management functions to accomplish AWM&T sales goals in addition to other assigned duties
  • Develop and present training programs
  • Understand all duties related to the Relationship Manager (RM) role in addition to those outlined in this description
  • Meet with RMs to review individual and team business development plans and activity
  • Pursue team sales goals and enhance performance or adjust goals as needed
  • Work remotely from a home office using AWM&T provided hardware and software tools
  • Manage a robust sales pipeline and provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts/reports
  • The Director of Relationship Management (DRM) is a non-producing sales manager role


EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and written/verbal communications skills in a collaborative team environment
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in a fiduciary management, advisor management, or financial services sales manager role
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment in a growing company
  • Desire to lead and coach a remote team of financial and trust professionals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Military service or strong knowledge of military and government benefits a plus
  • Proven success leading a sales team of relationship managers to meet sales goals
  • Certification in a related fiduciary field such as CFP® or CTFA preferred
  • Experience as a relationship manager or financial advisor
  • Deep understanding of CRM systems and best practices
