Summary of Job Duties:
The Quality Performance Data Director is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and operational management of the Quality Performance Data Department at UAMS. S/he will have the accountability for assuring that we are accurately and effectively collecting, reporting and analyzing our performance data in all areas comprising the Office of the Chief Quality Officer: quality, infection prevention, regulatory, performance improvement, and workplace violence prevention. S/he will stay current in methodologies of the various external benchmarking programs (e.g., Vizient, CMS, NDNQI, NHSN, US News & World Report, Leapfrog, etc.) and assure that we are collecting and submitting data per specifications. S/he will fill the primary data administrator role for our clinical registries, working with each registry association and third-party vendor to finalize and renew contracts, maintain timelines for accurate data submittals, and optimize the reporting platforms to support our quality and accreditation programs. S/he will work with leadership in the CQO Office, UAMS Health, and Service Lines to report on progress and identify gaps, deficiencies, and strategic improvement objectives. S/he will continually assess currency of our quality data inventory and make recommendations for additions, deletions, and/or modifications. S/he will continuously assess resource allocation and work assignments to assure effective and efficient use of our Data Analyst resources. S/he will collaborate closely with our IT and Informatics partners to assure that information systems are appropriately designed and calibrated to support our quality work and to implement automated ways to collect data to minimize manual data abstraction processes.

Qualifications:
Bachelors in information management, business, healthcare management or healthcare. Master's preferred.
3-5 years’ experience in Performance Data. Experience working in Health Systems and/or an Academic Medical Center Environment, preferred.
Knowledge of clinical indicator methodology and specifications. Working knowledge of administrative datasets and clinical datasets. Working knowledge of TJC, CMS, NHSN, AHRQ, and NQF indicators. Experience working with vendors and contracting of services. Ability to use relational databases in various software packages. Strong Statistical analysis skills. Knowledge and experience in SPC. Strong ability to effectively translate data into graphical displays of information. Experience in creating multi-level dashboards with drill down capability.
Familiarity or expertise with: Excel, PowerPoint, statistical packages, and relational databases.
