Overview

Crush Studio is seeking a smart, organized and detail-oriented full-time Project Operations Director to manage our team in Denver.

We are an experiential design and production studio, specializing in producing unique set designs and hospitality spaces for global brands.We are currently looking for an operations-focused Project Director to be the ring-leader of our circus! This role will include implementation and development of our project processes, managing our project team throughout project lifecycles (providing structure, guidance, problem-solving, and support as needed), and managing our staff against project needs. Experience in both operations and events is required.

This role would be a part of the management team which consists of the owner/Creative Director (Denver-based), Finance & Admin Director (remote), and Marketing & Accounts Director (remote).As our local team is focused on design and production - this role would manage a Studio Manager/Assistant and all studio operations, in addition to managing the Project Team.

This would be a full-time role in our Denver office - with remote work available on Mondays and Fridays, pending project workloads and studio needs. Some travel will be required, estimated to be every 6 weeks to 8 weeks.

We love what we do and have a lot of fun while we do it and are therefore looking for someone that fits in with our team culture. The hours can sometimes be crazy, and the workload even crazier, so we want someone that is ready to roll up their sleeves, be part of the team and kick ass with us!


Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Producers to ensure project framework works effectively and coach them as needed through various project phases of the project - including development of run of show
  • Work with team members to consistently use the core project systems effectively and consistently, provide training as needed
  • Train all new Project team members on processes and implementation
  • Manage the Project Manager(s) in creation of schedules, timelines and budgets to ensure deliverables are received on time and project needs are being met
  • Create a system for keeping supplies and inventory documented, accessible and organized - especially as they come and go for event installations
  • Manage the Crush Denver office
  • Manage staffing and resource planning; help MGMT team identify when additional staff need to be hired on a contract or FT basis
  • Create and maintain a housekeeping checklist with studio assignments to ensure an organized and aesthetically pleasing office setting
  • Oversee the move of the office to a new location (expected in Sept/Oct of 2023) by talking through design components with design team and delegating tasks to Production Coordinators
  • Represent the Projects Team and Denver office with MGMT Team - providing regular skill and bandwidth assessment and recommendations for all studio projects and operations procedures
  • Capture post-mortem notes after each projects - identify any areas for process modifications or additional training
  • Hire and manage a Studio Assistant/Manager
  • Manage the Projects Team in executing large-scale, design and event productions with multiple vendors, client and agency partnersin order to achieve desirable aesthetic and budget outcomes for Crush Studio
  • Manage other members of the the Projects/Production Teams in establishing and developing key vendors/partners to create lasting and dependable relationships, as well as provide cost effective options to clients for items ranging from audio/visual equipment, furniture and material/fabric selections and fabrication to freight shipping and warehousing
  • Implement, document and streamline project processes to create a more organized Project Flow including the Planning and Design phases, Installation, Event and Strike/Close-Out Phases
  • Implement an easy-to-use packing/loading and unloading process, including ensuring that necessary paperwork is rerouted to the Finance Director
  • Utilize AirTable, GDrive and Dropbox for office, operations and project management
  • Manage the core project systems - the Project Brief (client facing) and the Playbook (internal) identify issues, recommend and implement solutions

Qualifications:


ROLE SPECIFIC

  • Planning, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Management and operations experience
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks in a calm and professional manner
  • Access to a reliable automobile with proof of automobile insurance and a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 7years experience in event, film or commercial, tradeshow or related field production
  • Willing and ability to work nonstandard work hours, including weekends and holidays. Travel is expected every 6 weeks - 2 months.

Salary

$90,000 - $100,000/per year

  • Comp time for installs and events when weekend days and any company holidays are worked (can be used as desired, but do not roll over from year-to-year and are not paid out)
