Job Description
Q CELLS Enable is the C&I (Commercial and Industrial) EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) arm of Qcells which is the market leading PV and battery solution provider in US and Global market. We are based in NYC and quickly expanding our footprint to all neighboring states in Northeast.
Position Overview
The Director of Project Management will lead the Project Management department and will play a vital role within the Qcells Enable organization to enable our vision of becoming the Ieading C&I PV and ESS EPC solution provider in US. The Director of Project Management is expected to draw upon a fundamental project management and construction background and direct experience to lead the successful build out of MW scale ground mount solar power systems.
The Director will also build and mentor a large diverse cross functional team located throughout the Americas, as well as oversees a broad network of suppliers and partners.
This position reports to the Head of Operations or another management personnel that the Company may designate. This position will be located in NYC office (Manhattan) or NJ office (Bergen County) with the consideration of the candidates’ accessibility. Ideal candidates will be within commutable distance of these locations, but a flexible or hybrid working option is open.
Compensation: Base Salary ($150,000~$190,000) + Bonus
Responsibilities
  • Review activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement;
  • All other assignments and special projects, as requested by Management.
  • Support and cooperate with sales and proposal to win new EPC bids;
  • Review activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement, facilitate a “lessons learned meeting” after project completion to document areas of improvement and excellence
  • Manage Project Managers, Associate Project Managers and Procurement Specialists providing proper resourcing for on-time and on-budget completion of all C&I PV and ESS EPC projects
  • Support internal planning group with periodic and ad-hoc reporting.
  • While most of this work will be carried out in the New York office location, some travel to work sites is required; and
  • Develop strategic plan for procurement including standardizing bid packages and SOW for sub-contractors and vendors, negotiating volume pricing discounts, identifying new supplier opportunities, implement cost saving process improvements.
  • Manage all aspects of project management for ongoing C&I PV and ESS EPC projects including but not limited to: Licensing, permitting, zoning, interconnection, sub-contracting, engineering, contract management, scheduling, procurement, incentives, internal installation efforts, inspections, testing, Quality Assurance, Commissioning, budgeting, costs
  • Provide point of escalation for customer and subcontractor issues
  • Responsible for management of all C&I PV and ESS EPC projects from contract execution until post PTO
  • Some travel to work sites is required;
Required Qualifications
  • PMP Certification, preferred;
  • Bachelor's degree required; a degree in related field such as engineering, construction manage-ment or project management will be a plus;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar or renewable energy industry, preferred;
  • Professional appearance and effective interpersonal skills, comfortable in an office setting as well as on a commercial construction job site;
  • Must enjoy working within a team and working independently;
  • NABCEP Certification, preferred;
  • Experience working with Electric Utilities preferred;
  • Excellent ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company; and
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic, environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Project Management experience, required;
  • Excellent time management and financial management skills; and
  • Fluency in MS Project, or equivalent project management software;
  • Strong Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook);
  • Ability to read plan sets, do take offs, create Bill of Materials and procurement bids;
