Job Description
We are seeking a sales director that has a core functional understanding of the digital media marketplace. Our ideal candidate will have pre-established relationships with key SSP’s and be familiar with Display, Mobile, Web, App and CTV streaming programmatic ad inventory monetization. This role will position Sinclair’s 160+ websites and apps to generate maximum demand and revenue. This is a New York City based sales role and focused on business development and revenue growth at key ad agencies and brand direct clients.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue growth. Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate results to key stakeholders. Create and conduct quarterly business reviews with SBG revenue and technology stakeholders.
  • Executive Report Out: Along with Corp. VP of National Digital, create and conduct quarterly business reviews with SBG revenue and technology stakeholders.
  • Partnerships and Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong lead relationships with revenue and data technology partners – Especially SSP’s. Market Sinclair as a premium inventory publisher within each of their network ecosystems. Evaluate and negotiate partnerships to ensure optimal revenue outcomes.
  • Product Knowledge: Understand Sinclair’s Digital footprint.
  • Revenue Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive programmatic monetization strategy that positions Sinclair and its affiliates to maximize revenue yields considering market trends, new technology developments and industry best practices
  • Account Upselling/Business Development: Migrate open market clients to programmatic guaranteed deal id commitments (PMP’s). Role requires in person meetings and presentations to key agencies and brands in NYC and other locations as needed.
  • Revenue Optimization/Yield and Pricing: Continuously analyze programmatic revenue streams, identify opportunities for optimization, and implement tactics to maximize yield and fill rates. Define and implement pricing models, inventory allocation strategies, and yield management practices. Monitor market conditions to ensure pricing is competitive and tuned for maximum net revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with Ad Ops: Work closely with the ad operations team to ensure the accurate and timely execution of programmatic campaigns, optimized technology integrations, data collection and processing compliance, and month-end revenue reporting.
  • Business Development: Develop and cultivate new brand direct partnerships and relationships. Develop independent revenue models to validate vendor estimates when new products or services are being contemplated.
  • Inventory Exposure: Ensure Key DSP’s and SSP’s are looking at our inventory.
  • Utilize Programmatic Technology to Maximize Revenue and Yield: Evaluate and implement Deal IDs and Programmatic Guarantees from Regional Sales Directors, National Teams, and Sinclair Sports Group when they are positive to yield. Work with all sales leaders to restructure deals that undermine overall revenue strategy.
Key Attributes and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7+ year’s experience in digital media programmatic publisher sales.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Self-Starter
  • Established relationships at SSP’s and DSP’s
  • Analytical business acumen and Excel skills
  • Must be NYC area based
  • Experience with G.A.M. helpful.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Very knowledgeable about programmatic ad tech: Header/Bidding, Deal Id, SSP/DSP integrations, GAM/G4
  • Some travel required

The base salary compensation range for this role is $200,000 to $236,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
