Job Description
Job Title: Director of People Operations - REMOTE Revision Date: 6/19/23

Purpose:


Under the direct supervision of the VP of People Operations for Terrestrial and Wireless, with a specific focus on performance management, culture, training & development, compensation, audits, compliance, safety, and succession planning. This position will promote and enforce all policies and initiatives and assist VP of HR in identifying and implementing best practices and strategic goals.


Responsibilities:


  • In collaboration with People Operations Director of S&S, oversee rollout of Comtech University and identify opportunities for company-wide training (anti-harassment, professional development, etc). Coordinate and partner with compliance departments to ensure timely completion of training.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management for all facilities within their segment.
  • Coordinates and ensures completion of compliance filings – (IE: EEOC and Vets reporting)
  • Provides reporting and data to managers upon request.
  • Collaborates with VP of People Operations and division management team to direct all HR functions for the division including talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, compensation, and succession planning. Oversee employee relations for organization ensuring employee feedback is received, appropriately responded to, and escalated when applicable. This includes counseling, coaching, and terminations of employees. Create and implement an employee relations guide for People Operations Business Partners to provide guidance on the escalation and importance of employee issues/concerns and reduce risk of litigation.
  • Develop and implement company-wide new hire and benefit orientation (in collaboration with People Operations Director of S&S) to create a consistent, informative, and engaging introduction to Comtech for new hires.
  • Administer the 401k plan by sending out communication pieces, coordinating education materials, and other compliance pieces as applicable.
  • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the people operations and management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues; foster cross-functional relationships.
  • Identify and develop areas and a plan of professional development for employees’ needs.
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Manages the coordination/education materials of the Open Enrollment process and assists in communicating with Business Partners and employees.
  • Leverage data insights and trends to identify BU business challenges; proactively partner with/influence BU leadership to strategize business solutions; develop and lead planning, design, implementation, communication, and delivery of high impact HR initiatives across the business unit.
  • Manages RFP process for division by ensuring correct data is proved, coordinating information with other departments, and meeting deadlines.
  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Manages and directs the input and output of all data into our HRIS.

Requirements:


  • A minimum of ten (10) years of human resources experience, at least 7 years of Generalist experience
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required
  • Flexibility of hours to provide support on off business hours as required
  • Experience with ADP WFN is a plus
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certificate is a plus
