Job Description
The People Excellence (PEx) Director, along with their direct reports, will provide leadership and functional human resource generalist support to our restaurant employees (field operations). This position reports to the Vice President of People Excellence and requires close partnership with the Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Culinary Operations, and the Restaurant (Field) Management Team members (i.e. Area Coaches and Operators).


Working with leaders, the PEx Director will be instrumental in fostering a culture that celebrates both strong teamwork and individual growth, to enable each employee to reach their highest potential. The PEx Director will develop and maintain a genuine partnership with the restaurant operations team serving as an employee advocate, cultural ambassador, subject matter expert, and innovator with a passion to cultivate a great place to work at all times.


The PEx Director will be a key contributor in the continuous improvement of Biscuitville’s people practices and will serve as the face of the People Excellence department, building credibility and trust throughout the organization. This will require immersive work in the field, working closely with and listening to all stakeholders, so that we build the most effective systems that are rooted in the reality of day-to-day operations.


T he PEx Director will have oversight for PEx processes spanning the employee life-cycle and provide insight into the strategic business plans and PEx department intiatives. This role has responsibility to focus on the following functional areas of employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, training and development, employment analytics, and recruitment and onboarding.

Education


  • Master's degree preferred
  • PHR and/or SPHR Certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience necessary to complete the responsibilities/ essential functions of the position is required


Knowledge, Skills And Experience


  • Experience with HR systems and MS Office applications
  • Ability to partner with leaders of varying levels to help them accomplish business unit objectives, balancing both internal practices/policies, thinking outside of the box for creative, relevant people-centric solutions
  • Skillful at establishing personal credibility and trusting relationships by being responsive, keeping commitments, sharing insights on issues being discussed and building relationships
  • Proven ability to problemsolve in ambiguous situations, effectively prioritizing and using sound judgment when partnering with management and employees
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence/manage change, understanding of strategic HR partnership in driving business results
  • Experience in a field-facing, fast paced multi-unit (field) organization, preferably restaurant, hospitality, or retail
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to facilitate organizational changes across all levels in a matrix organization
  • Minimum ten (10) years of HR experience, that includes experience advising senior leaders and Directors on human resource matters including, employee performance management, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and recruitment
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment, labor and compliance requirements
  • Flexibility to meet travel requirements - up to 50% to restaurants and corporate office depending on business needs
  • Experience developing, directing and managing the performance of others to achieve results applying project management approaches to deliver results in a timely manner
