Description And Requirements
- Providing proactive advice regarding business and legal issues and risks
- Drafting and negotiating a high volume of complex technology, sales and partnering agreements, vendor and supplier agreements, public sector contracts, and other commercial contracts including confidentiality agreements, license agreements, data processing agreements, professional services agreements, assignments and amendments; contracts for Direct and Channel sales, RFP/RFIs, resale, nondisclosure, software license/sublicense, evaluation, cloud contracts, XaaS (e.g., DaaS, SaaS etc.), flexible consumption models and other commercial agreements.
- Developing and implementing legal efficiencies to support business teams, and improving contract processes and operations
- Collaborating with internal and outside counsel, technology experts, marketing and sales teams, product developers as well as with Lenovo’s customers and suppliers as needed
- Working with clients and the legal team on strategic initiatives in support of all business units
- Reviewing existing, and creating new, template agreements and negotiation playbooks to build the team’s knowledge base, and ensure consistency and speed
- JD or LLM and admission to practice
- 8+ years of drafting and negotiation contracts experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably focused on technology transactions.
- Experience with Governmental Contracting (Locals, State, Federal) is required.
- Demonstrated exceptional judgment, integrity and ability to give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives
- Quick to identify and resolve issues in collaboration with client and team members
- Drive for Continuous Improvement
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Possesses an appetite for innovation, driving efficiencies by developing playbooks, templates, etc.
- Strong communication and presentation skills will be necessary to explain complex matters to business partners in a manner that is readily understandable in order to ensure well-informed business decisions
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal interaction in a highly customer-satisfaction focused environment
- Developed critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills, with a willingness to get into the details of complex problems and drive creative solutions
- Detail-oriented, with outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
- Experience in change management as a result of implementation of company-wide policies and procedures
- Demonstrate an ability to thrive in a large, global company while coordinating the efforts of a large cross-functional group of internal stakeholders
- Comfort around running Steering Groups and reporting on performance to clients
- Client Relationship Development/Management
