Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing will lead a team of marketers to execute marketing programs and drive overall growth and success through strategic planning and execution of brand-building and consumer-focused campaigns. This is a unique role in marketing, as it not only delivers against mission awareness and brand reputation but also must work cross-functionally to drive revenue and business results that fund our mission. They are a strategic, creative, and entrepreneurial marketing leader. This person will take on a variety of responsibilities and play a leadership role on the marketing team. Specific responsibilities include new external communication strategy & execution, paid digital media advertising, promotional programs, industry/market analysis, and vendor management.

The Director of Marketing will promote a positive work environment that celebrates our vision, mission and core values in every action and interaction with team members, donors, customers, management and persons served.
Essential Functions
  • Leverage insights to drive and support marketing efforts and campaigns.
  • Works with team members to track campaign success using performance data related to email campaigns, digital advertising, website engagement, earned media, internal team member engagement, survey outcomes and other metrics.
  • Identify short- and long-term resource needs, including the development and management of the annual marketing budget.
  • Collaborates across departments to meet marketing demands as well as to provide strategic counsel to leaders.
  • Analyzes and reports on the effectiveness of campaigns and recommends next steps for improving outcomes; uses this data to inform immediate and future strategies and tactics.
  • Develop, execute and measure marketing campaigns and branding strategies to deliver against key business objectives of driving mission awareness, revenue & donations, and career solutions pipeline.
  • Leads the marketing department by managing integrated initiatives across in-store, promotional, advertising, social media, and earned media communications channels.
  • Manages the marketing team by providing direct coaching, mentorship and support.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Manages the True Blue Rewards loyalty program communications activities and strategies.
  • Plans and executes content and paid media campaigns to support the marketing plan/goals.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices and seeks ongoing professional development to stay current.
  • Understand key performance metrics and tracking tools for market research, forecasts, competitor analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends, and translate results into actionable insights for marketing team.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related area is required.
Experience
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in a marketing, brand management or advertising management role.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders – creative, media, retail goods, mission services, and agency partners.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence leadership.
  • Experience in working with multiple vendors/partners (internally and externally) with critical timelines and multiple project requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to conduct market research and present reports.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Management and talent development experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of all marketing media including digital, paid, and social media campaigns and analytics.
  • Experience in leading brand marketing strategies and integrated marketing plans independently or with the support of an outside agency.
  • Advanced understanding of customized, culturally sensitive marketing campaigns and review process.
Preferred Education / Experience / Knowledge & Skills / Certifications & Licenses
  • Agency experience (client or agency side) is preferred but not required.
  • MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Marketing analytics and/or loyalty program oversight experience a plus but not required.
