Summary:
The Director of Volunteer Services is responsible for directing, defining, and promoting the Volunteer Services Department of the Hospital; Middlesex Medical Center, Shoreline; Medical Center, Marlborough; Middlesex Hospital Outpatient Center and Auxiliary Shops. Acts as a liaison between Hospital Administration and the Hospital Auxiliary.
The Director of Volunteer Services establishes the procedures for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring volunteer workers. The Director collaborates with other departments to evaluate company needs and monitors and oversees volunteer schedules ensuring activities meet the organizational objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
College degree required with Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three or more years of managerial experience. Excellent math, administrative, organizational, and writing skills. Previous volunteer work experience preferred.
Must be outgoing, friendly and mature with exceptional interpersonal skills. Must possess personal qualities of neatness, tactful, dependability and non-judgmental sensitivity when dealing with volunteers, staff and the public. Must have a good understanding of volunteer motivation. Utilization of good communication techniques and problem-solving methods.
