SUMMARY:

Directs production, maintenance, engineering and investment opportunities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes and coordinates production, and maintenance in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures approved by the President.

• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved expanded services in area.

• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

• Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.

• Develops “Return on Investment” calculations for capital projects.

• Primary person responsible for operations, programs, and efforts that impact workforce safety.

• Recommends investments to management and manages approved production budget.

• Provides technical assistance to members of sales and production departments.

• Serves as a representative of REP at selected community functions.

• Directs and coordinates research and development activities for company products and services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages all subordinate personnel listed under this position on the REP’s Organization Chart. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

Manages subordinate supervisors of the following departments: maintenance, sheet production, extrusion, fabrication, and engineering departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering Sciences or Chemistry from a four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
