Job Description
Tegus is the leading market intelligence platform for key decision makers. We power some of the world’s most well-respected institutional investors, corporations, and consultancies through the largest and most comprehensive database of primary and market information. Our products and services enable clients to discover unmatched insights and answers to the most challenging questions they face to help them make better informed decisions.

For the Head of Information Technology and Information Security role at Tegus, we’re looking for a passionate and hands-on leader to develop and grow our Information Technology function. You will ensure the smooth operation of the technology infrastructure supporting Tegus’ expanding workforce distributed around the globe and with offices in Chicago, Vancouver, BC, and Waterford, Ireland. Based out of our headquarters in Chicago’s Loop, you will report to our Head of Engineering. You will assume management of teams focused on Information Security, System Administration, and running the Service Desk.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Development: You will provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to members of the IT team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and customer-focused culture. Achieve success by fostering cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst the six team members while implementing strategies to enhance the skills and expertise of each individual. All team members will look to you as we mature our abilities to budget, evaluate and recommend in-house vs. off-the-shelf solutions and pragmatically execute the plans you build.
  • Effective System Administration: Guiding and collaborating with the System Administrators, you strive for maximum performance, availability, and security of all systems and applications. These include Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Box, and Microsoft 365, along with department-specific applications. You will push the team to automate and keep operational effectiveness top of mind as we scale to become a global business.
  • Build Strong Partnerships to Drive Employee Productivity: Work with all departments across the company to identify opportunities to improve employee productivity with corporate IT technology. Strong project management skills will lead to sharing visibility into strategic IT projects underway and planned with regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Drive Information Security Awareness and Compliance: You see the value and are excited about integrating security practices into the company's culture and operations. You are ready to collaborate with the Information Security and Product Development teams to ensure ongoing SOC2 compliance and management of cybersecurity threats.
  • IT Service Desk Performance: Working with the IT Operations Manager, you will develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure prompt and effective resolution of employee technology-related issues. The Tegus value of Learn by Doing will be front of mind as you drive for continuous improvement and user satisfaction for both in-office and remote employees.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts free of jargon.
  • Detail-oriented and possess the strong organizational skills required in a dynamic environment where many people work on many things.
  • Can work collaboratively on cross-functional teams and with individuals across all company levels, from individual contributors to an executive.
  • Confidence and knowledge to oversee the building and maintaining corporate office networks, VPNs, A/V systems, and foundational systems, including identity management, device management, and endpoint protection. This includes supporting both macOS and Windows deployments.
  • CISSP, CISM and ITIL are not just a bunch of acronyms and the principles behind these certifications guide the way you approach your profession. Similarly, you understand and have worked with SOC2 and ISO standards to elevate the way a business operates.
  • SaaS solutions are not new to you and you are knowledgeable about both Microsoft and Google productivity suites and products like Slack and Zoom.
  • You are a player/coach. You have experience leading people and can roll up your sleeves to help implement scalable IT solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, both individually and within a team environment.
  • 8+ years of relevant IT experience, including at least three years in a managerial role.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on delivering value to internal stakeholders.
  • Experience overseeing IT procurement, vendor relations, and asset management.
  • High level of discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.

Benefits & Perks

  • Paid parental leave for all parents.
  • The opportunity to attend peer-nominated quarterly DEI events.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Commuter benefits & a fully stocked kitchen with rotating snacks and beverages.
  • Unlimited paid vacation, flexible work hours, and 10 observed paid holidays per year.
  • Fantastic culture with regular virtual company-wide events, including cooking classes, yoga, meditation and more.
  • All employees are granted equity through our Restricted Stock Units (RSU) Program.
  • Employer funded long-term disability.
  • Generous employee referral bonus program.
  • Working for a thriving, performance-based company that values promoting from within, career advancement and transparency.
  • The option to work from a state of the art office in the heart of Chicago’s Loop featuring standing desks, nursing parent rooms, gender neutral bathrooms, subsidized gym access, and full amenity floor.
  • 401(k) plan with an employer match.

Don’t meet every single requirement?

At Tegus we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
