JOB DESCRIPTION: In this role, you will oversee the financial planning, budgeting, metrics, FP&A, data collection, and corporate development work at Blackbird. You’ll be a strategic partner in the company’s decision-making, working closely with executive leadership, growth & business development functions. We've grown quickly in the last few years and have more complex business needs in finance, accounting, control, balance sheet management, and budgeting. Our goal is to use smart financial planning and measurement to make better business decisions—your job is to make that happen.

You'll report directly to the CEO and have significant discretion over hiring and team growth.

Key tasks include (but not limited to) leading the company’s Series A round, managing the company P&L, developing company financial models and forecasts, variance analysis, ad hoc strategic modeling to provide data-driven decision support across all functions of the company. In addition, youwill manage Blackbird’s accountants and work closely with our sales, operations, and marketing teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead team through the planning and execution of Series A fundraising goals.

●Bring increased measurement through data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support learning and fact-based decision-making

●Assists the organization in developing process measurements and implementing controls to monitor current processes

●Communicate with key stakeholders on project progress

●Improve the monthly close process and scope to reduce cycle time and improve efficiency.

●Manage our third-partyaccountantsby supporting and directing day-to-day accounting activities, including AR, AP,payroll, cash flow management, andaccounting reports and analysis

●Report to the BOD and key investors on a monthlyand quarterly with actionable information.

●Prepare, maintain, and update budget files and future projections

●Track forecast accuracy

●Prepare analysis of sales and distribution results, providing variance analysis and performance metrics

MUST-HAVES:

●Ability to manage, influence and coach others, regardless of reporting relationships

●Ability to conceptualize and think creatively

●Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills

●Knowledge of financial applications and systems required – QuickBooks

●Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or Engineering;MBA preferred

●Minimum 5 yearsofexperience in FP&A or similar Finance role.

●Demonstrated skills in driving strategic change

●Experience In both a CPG startup + CPG legacy brand preferred
