About the Company:
Our client in the educational field is seeking a Director of FP&A to partner and team with the CFO to lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of FP&A. This is a highly visible and impactful role in the growth and education of children.
Be part of a large, well-known organization, partnering with the CFO, all levels of the organization, and community. Located in the Denver metro area.
Summary: Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the FP&A department, overseeing capital finance, treasury, enrollment planning, risk management, and payroll. Collaborate with the Budget Director to align financial planning with operational and capital needs and funding sources. Prepare and maintain a multi-year capital financial plan reflecting strategic priorities and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Director FP&A:
- Lead treasury function in maximizing investment returns, cash management, debt, and lending.
- Monitor regulatory requirements, legislative impacts, and adhere to GASB guidelines.
- Director of FP&A will develop a multi-year capital financial plan covering both capital fund sources, spending, and utilization.
- Lead budgeting for capital finance and risk management, optimizing operational plans within budget and statutory requirements.
- Present information to stakeholder committees, community leaders, and organizational management regarding capital financial plans.
- Drive financial sustainability through enrollment, facility openings, closures, and property management.
- Champion technology platforms and automation. Collaborate in ERP system upgrades and implementations.
Qualifications for the Director FP&A:
- Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of financial regulations related to debt, capital finance, treasury management, and government financial management. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills. Proficiency in Excel for dynamic financial modeling.
- Experience: Minimum of six years in finance, business administration, or financial management. Industry experience in K-12 education, higher education, non-profit or governmental experience, is highly desired. Experience in investment banking capital markets and/or lending is advantageous.
- Supervision: Directly supervise a team of four direct reports.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree or finance-specific certification preferred.
Salary range: $125,000 - $165,000 plus generous benefits
