Area of Expertise: Lithium-Ion Battery Systems engineering


Job Summary

The Director Engineering has deep technical knowledge of Leclanché products and is able to provide the full engineering design for battery storage systems. He/She supports multiple stake holders through the journey from providing sales with technical concepts and costs to commissioning battery storage systems. This involves, as a primary task, providing deep technical support to the client during the different design phases with Leclanché, but also being the technical interface between the client and multiple stakeholders within Leclanché. The candidate requires detained knowledge of battery systems design and communication protocols as well as grid codes knowledge to be able to propose solutions in the diverse industries in which Leclanché operates.

Roles and Responsibilities

·Engineering design for battery energy storage systems

·Document and create all paper work related to engineering

·Support sales with technical concepts, specifications, and proposals

·Manage commissioning and installation of storage systems

·Ensure respect of local regulation and homologation

·Be abreast of all the latest technical parameters and capabilities of the system in coordination with the global EVP Engineering and CTIO and translate that into meaningful designs to support the business development and project execution teams

·Manage technical deliveries for customers through drawings, calculation notes, analysis, and test results.

·Produce / edit diverse product documentation.

·Mange prototype production, validation and testing.


Knowledge and Experience

·Minimum 5-year experience in Lithium Battery Systems engineering (up to 1500V)

·Particular experience in stationary or mobile storage systems is an asset

·Master degree, ideally in Electrical Engineering

·Results oriented person with strong negotiation skills

·Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 62928, EN50155 EN 45545, ISO 17025, ECE R-100, DNVGL standards etc.).

·Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret customer projects, test data etc.

·Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

·Ability to collaborate with other internal teams, project management, production, engineering, validation, prototyping, sales etc as well as with external customers is essential for this role.

·Time-management skills, ability to prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment

·Meticulous and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. English is a must, French or German are a plus.

Education

Engineering master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or similar field.
