The role you’ll contribute:

As a member of the AdventHealth Learning and Leadership team, the Director, Education and Onboarding develops the department's strategy in partnership with senior AdventHealth leadership, People Systems, and Clinical Leadership, and leads the Onboarding team's focus on developing, executing, and managing the critical new hire orientation strategies across AdventHealth's Central Florida Division. These initiatives include the development of clinical and non-clinical campus and department orientation, and overall onboarding strategic planning. The Director leads the team in the creation of strategic business partnerships at the campus and system levels and holds the team accountable for building and executing the onboarding strategy in those organizations. In this role, the Director is accountable for staff hiring, development, and performance management, and for delivering on the budget requirements and key strategy deliverables to the Executive Director of Learning & Leadership. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Leads a matrix team focused on developing, executing, and managing new hire onboarding strategy system-wide, including the development of clinical and non-clinical campus and department orientations.
  • Works directly with Senior leaders on onboarding development strategies. Partners with campuses and system functions to ensure continuous improvement and targeted development planning. Oversees team to design and implement onboarding programming.
  • Develops strategy to assess onboarding needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultation with managers or others to identify needs and to develop an aligned curriculum of system and campus programs, and on-line tools and resources.
  • Oversees team focused on developing instructional materials for onboarding including focus on organizational culture, and role specific clinical programming; Keeps abreast of current trends and learning science, along with market information to ensure competitive and relevant design and delivery; Ensures team benchmarks practices at best-in-class companies and observes best practices where possible.
  • Directs strategy around innovative learning solutions; Consistently assesses the training and development landscape to identify innovative approaches and benchmarks for success.
  • Maintains professional knowledge of innovative and current practices in the areas of onboarding, learning science and technology through analysis of research and participation in professional development.
  • Tracks Onboarding materials needs and costs to ensure alignment with budget and good stewardship of resources.
  • Develops appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to enhance programs and processes, builds accountability and measures results for consistent integrated solutions across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in the advancement of the department's goals.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in relevant discipline such as Psychology, Education, Human or Organizational Development

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in any of the above disciplines plus ten years' progressive experience in organizational development-related field, and five years leading cross-functional teams. PREFERRED:
  • Doctoral degree in relevant discipline such as Organizational Leadership, Training and Development, or Psychology preferred.
  • Other leadership experience preferred, experience leading training and/or New Employee Onboarding programs; healthcare experience/ education preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or equivalent


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Certified in at least one recognized assessment tool (i.e. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DiSC Behavioral Assessment, etc.);

OR

  • Certified in two or more leadership development programs, or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) through the Association for Talent Development (ATD)

OR

  • Nursing or other clinical certification, i.e., Nursing Professional Development certification

PREFERRED:

  • Leadership Certification in known leadership development programs such as DDI, Leadership Challenge, HPI, Psychological Associates

or other •Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or equivalent
