Experience managing the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Provides expertise on the latest trends and practices in educational reform and resource information.

Experience with managing Title I or other federally funded grant programs

Researches and compiles best practices for school improvement and comprehensive school reform.

Provides coordination in year-long school improvement plans.

Assists in planning, directing, and conducting OPHS activities with delegated authority from the Director of OPHS.

Assists in developing OPHS policy.

Reviews and Evaluates OPHS programs and activities.

Reviews and analyzes methods, procedures, practices, processes, and systems used to accomplish OPHS activities and functions.

Provides information as directed by the Director of OPHS to various city/county community partners.

Attends and speaks at public, departmental, divisional, committee, council, and board proceedings as required.

Preferred Job Requirements And Qualifications

Manages and facilitates the progress and results of multiple projects of average to high complexity

Assures compliance with the City’s policies, laws and regulations, project scope of work, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.

Works closely with other City departments to ensure all plans for economic development projects are coordinated appropriately

At least five-year’s experience as a special education director/leader in a medium to large school district

Team Management and Project Management (20%)

Minimum of master’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field

At least five-year’s experience as a special educator or related service provider

The agency is currently exploring the possibility of having a remote workforce for current and future employees beyond September 2022.

You must possess an advanced post-graduate degree in the field of economics.

Background investigation (Public Trust) is required.

You will serve a one-year probationary period unless you have previously completed the probationary period in the Senior Executive Service (SES).

Strong qualitative and/or quantitative analytical skills
