Description
Humana Healthy Horizons is seeking an Associate Director, Medicaid Provider Training & Education who will be responsible for setting and executing upon provider education and training strategy for Humana’s Medicaid segment in order to drive best in class provider experience. This role oversees the development and annual review of provider manuals, orientation and annual training materials, and billing guides, as well as curation of topical trainings and standardized provider communication templates. This new and exciting role will lead both people and the transitioning of work from other areas of the business to the Medicaid Market Development team and will involve developing strategic processes and solutions and resolving complex technical and operational challenges.
Responsibilities
Key Role Objectives
  • Sets and executes upon provider education and training strategy for Humana’s Medicaid segment in order to drive best in class provider experience.
  • Supports team members in their development and ensures positive work environment that promotes associate retention and high quality, timely products.
  • Responsible for curation of topical provider training repository and regular review of the repository to ensure course materials are current and relevant to training needs.
  • Reviews and approves standardized templates for Medicaid provider communications, such as bulletins, newsletters, and onboarding materials.
  • Develops, tracks, and analyzes KPI’s of the training programs effectiveness by examining provider satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and provider performance improvement.
  • Regularly meets with Humana Healthy Horizons Medicaid markets to understand their provider training and education needs to ensure aligned segment strategy and approach.
  • Oversees the development and annual review of provider manuals, orientation and annual training materials, and billing guides, including materials specific to behavioral health and long-term care providers.
Required Qualifications
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working for or with health plans related to the field of provider training and education.
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Three (3) or more years of leadership experience leading a team of direct reports.
  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed environment and coordinating across various departments.
  • Proven expertise in driving operational efficiencies and management of timelines and processes, adept at managing processes from concept to completion ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-target results.
  • Experienced strategist with proven track record of synthesizing and evaluating multiple inputs, such as market feedback, contractual requirements, and provider materials, to define priorities and build solutions.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Understanding of learning design principles and proven application of those principles to create easy-to-read and captivating provider training and educational materials.
  • Experience with establishing a new team and/or new processes.
  • Experience with Medicaid policies and/or Medicaid health plan operations, such as provider relations, claims submission and payment, utilization management processes, or dispute resolution.
Additional Information
  • Workstyle: Home. Home workstyle is defined as remote but will use Humana office space on an as needed basis for collaboration and other face-to-face needs.
  • Typical Work Days/Hours: must be available to work 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
  • Travel: up to 10% to various states.
  • Direct Reports: up to 5 associates.
Interview Format

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$112,400 - $154,900 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
