Position Description
Provides overall strategic leadership for Continuous Improvement efforts for US Collision. Leveraging a strong partnership with the Continuous Improvement Managers in the Divisions they drive increased performance across the network through the execution of proven behaviors and activities. They will have an intrinsic understanding of the Gerber Operating Model as a foundation for driving a Continuous Improvement Process. They will work collaboratively to develop systems to monitor and track performance and to ensure adherence to the operating mode.all of which are part of a comprehensive system for management used across the organization. Ultimately, the Director will prove successful when a sustainable culture of continuous improvement is installed and maintained throughout all of the Boyd/Gerber Repair Centers and at the corporate level.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide vision for all CI training to help build team capability while ensuring consistency in training content and approach across the enterprise.
  • Leveraging lean-thinking to achieve process improvements, cost savings, and productivity goals
  • Lead efforts to ensure that barriers are thoroughly and consistently being identified, addressed, and actions plans are created through performance reports and meetings
  • Provide strategic leadership for all continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead analysis of cost savings opportunities across the organization and work with finance and business partners to quantify outcomes.
  • Continue to drive and reinvigorate the WOW Operating way
  • Conduct accurate, objective and consistent shop audits on the Boyd/Gerber Operating Model in terms of both process and metrics
  • Prioritize areas of focus in order to ensure that areas of highest needs are addressed in a timely manner without neglecting overall focus through effective scheduling of audits, visits, and reviews.
  • Provide ad-hoc subject matter expertise to help drive process improvement, support problem solving, innovation, etc.in support of Operational objectives and at the corporate level when needed.
  • Partner with functional leaders to identify organizational CI goals by evaluating existing functional objectives and long-range plans, processes and outputs, and team project portfolios. This includes partnering with functional and team leadership to identify KPIs to track, measure, and improve team performance.
  • In addition to the standardized key meetings, communicate any additional findings/concerns with Division Leadership
  • Leads efforts requiring project consulting and coaching, utilizing continuous improvement tools to ensure project success in partnership with Divisional CIMs, Market and Store leadership.
  • Serve in a lead capacity for development of project prioritization and team capacity planning in partnership with functional leadership
Requirements
  • Skilled at developing and delivering training content and leading large workshops.
  • 7 years of applying Lean Six Sigma techniques, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industries
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a variety of individuals, including internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented with strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field. MBA preferred
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Experience influencing others, including senior leaders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
