Description


Pensions & Investments, Crain Communications’ award-winning international newspaper of money management, is seeking a Digital Content Director who will be responsible for the overall vision and direction of the publication’s content development for the website, newsletters and podcast/video offerings.


Our Digital Content Director will collaborate with P&I’s top editors to brainstorm and implement new approaches to storytelling and ensure we are leveraging our award-winning content across digital platforms to attract new, qualified readers, drive deeper engagement and optimize conversions.


P&I’s Digital Content Director will also work closely with our SVP Product to launch and test new digital offerings tailored for our audience of institutional investors and global asset managers.


This is an ideal role for a digitally savvy journalist who has strong news judgment, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the know-how to optimize editorial content for digital consumption.


A successful candidate will thrive on working with editors and reporters to plan and produce content supporting our editorial mission covering institutional investing, while also being capable of driving change to optimize workflow for a digital-first newsroom.


The Digital Content Director will explore new ways to expand our audience, enhance our website and engage readers. They should also be detail-oriented, able to work on tight deadlines and learn quickly.


Requirements:


  • Experience with creating podcasts, videos and other multimedia content
  • Ample experience with SEO, including headline writing, and web analytics (such as Omniture, Chartbeat or Google Analytics).
  • Proven track record in managing a home page, developing an audience, driving engagement and conversions


Preferred:


  • Drupal experience
  • Financial journalism experience


This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.


Pay Transparency Disclosure:


The estimated base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $150,000.


The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.

Physical Demands

Physical activities will include frequent in-person or virtual interactions.  For most positions, it is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods, perform computer-related tasks, and create/maintain documents within filing systems.  Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing reports and information, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading.  The typical physical requirements are light work—exerting up to 25 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.  Some positions will have additional physical requirements, including exerting up to 50 lbs of force to move and/or carry equipment, supplies, files, or other materials as the role requires.
