About Our Client
My client is a leading North American independent power producer with a delivery pipeline of 5GW of projects annually.

The DG Solar - Preconstruction Project Manager - New York will have various responsibilities, including:

• Understand and evaluate labor, material and other direct and indirect costs associated with proposed contracts.
• Assist in providing project construction cost estimates and ongoing updates to financial capex project input forms to support Business Development, Construction and Finance teams with financial modelling and cost/budget creation.
• Liaise with Development Engineers to ensure they are receiving reports and studies (e.g. Geo-Tech, Wetlands Delineations etc.) needed to produce assigned design-set deliverables.
• Perform Due Diligence on project information and associated studies to identify project needs, 'red flag' risks and critical timelines and clearly communicate to Development Team Lead.
• Attend project Kick-Off meetings, and receive new projects on behalf of the Pre-Construction Team; record on project tracking tool.
• Help manage M&A due diligence and 'red flag' memos for new opportunities and acquisitions under consideration.
• Review and critique design information (e.g. Layouts) for buildability and possible operational issues.
• Understand the status of entitlement, interconnection and permitting issues, and advise on whether to accelerate to enable speedy design development.
• Coordinate and assist Development Team with utility and developer RFP responses.
• Collaborate with estimating team to compare internal CAPEX assumptions with market pricing data received from EPC RFPs.
• Coordinate with Estimators, Schedulers and Development Team Engineers to establish team deliverables.

The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, ProCore, and project tracking database system.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
• Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Good understanding of project life-cycle from feasibility, permitting, entitlements, design and utility processes, project schedules, and execution-phase experience is a plus.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including an ability to maintain calm and effective exchanges with all parties during stressful situations.
• Strong familiarity with photo-voltaic solar, energy storage components, and associated technical standards.
• +5 years professional experience in a Renewables Development OR Project Management role.
