Job Description

As the Development Manager of Fundraising and Events, you will be an integral member of our fundraising team by overseeing the implementation of programs, strategies, and events in accordance with the company vision. You will directly impact the company’s mission to empower students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through world-class athletes’ mentorship.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Development Processes & Events


  • Serve as the main point of contact for three annual fundraiser events – Concert for Classrooms Calgary, Concert for Classrooms Toronto, and Champion Chats Calgary.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Growth & Fund Development, other development staff, and volunteers, supporting fundraising events, including identifying and collaborating with sponsors, vendors, the event committee, the Board of Directors, and community partners.


Fundraising and Stewardship


  • In partnership with Marketing & Communications team, develop marketing objectives, plans, and tactics to achieve growth in revenue and participation. Oversee and assist in the creation of marketing materials, including posters, flyers, fact sheets, online fundraising platforms, social media outreach, etc.
  • Work with Communications Manager to create thank you letters to correspond to direct mail appeals and special events and update general thank you letters when needed.

Database Administration


  • Efficiently and accurately administer gift processing; donations in the donor database (HubSpot)
  • Use prospect research tools and donor databases to identify potential major donors.
  • Create a variety of special reports, including monthly reports for fundraising updates and goals and status, including events, direct mail, and other fundraising goals.


We Are Looking for Talented People With


  • Ability to meet deadlines while anticipating quickly changing needs.
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio of engagement events and communications.
  • Proficient in web-based applications), and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to effectively edit and create reports, database entries, and presentations.
  • A background clearance is required.
  • Experience with building event-based stewardship plans and working with donor CRM databases. Preferred (HubSpot)
  • Willingness to occasionally flex schedule to support evening or weekend events or meetings.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in marketing, fundraising, relationship building, and/or a minimum of five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
