Job Posting: Fundraising and Business Development Specialist (Commissioned/Contracted Position/Remote Work)

Sanborn Analytics, a nonprofit organization based in the Greater Boston, Massachusetts area, is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join our team as a Fundraising and Business Development Specialist. We are in the process of purchasing property to host and operate an onshore maritime AIS facility, and we need your help in selling the naming rights to the facility to support our mission.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with potential sponsors, showcasing the value and impact of partnering with Sanborn Analytics.
• Present sponsorship opportunities to potential sponsors, highlighting the benefits and exposure their brand will receive through naming rights.
• Negotiate and finalize sponsorship agreements, ensuring mutual satisfaction and adherence to the organization's guidelines.
• Identify and engage potential sponsors interested in associating their brand with our onshore maritime AIS facility.

Qualifications:

• Strong business development and fundraising skills, with a proven track record of successfully closing sponsorship deals or similar partnerships.
• Self-motivated and proactive attitude with a passion for nonprofit work and the maritime industry.
• Knowledge or experience in the field of AIS or maritime operations is a plus, but not required.
• Access to a computer, internet connection, and other necessary tools to work remotely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with potential sponsors and represent Sanborn Analytics.
• Ability to work independently, set your own schedule, and deliver results within deadlines.

Commission and Compensation:

This is a contracted position and NOT for employment. As a Fundraising and Business Development Specialist, you will be paid on a commission basis. Sanborn Analytics is looking to raise $475,000 through sponsorship naming rights, and you will receive a commission of 15.8% of the total funds raised or $75,000, whichever is higher. About Sanborn Analytics:

Sanborn Analytics operates an AIS facility in the Greater Boston area that has been functioning for over 5 years. During this time, we have collected over 1 million AIS signals from ships entering and leaving the New England region. As our naming rights agreement with former Sen. John Sidney McCain in Memoriam is coming to an end in the year 2023, we are seeking a dedicated individual to help secure a new sponsorship and continue our mission of promoting maritime safety, security, and data analysis.
