SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA’s) –

Ability to oversee the moves management process for major gift donors and prospective donors.

Five or more years’ experience within a higher education institution’s university advancement setting.

Demonstrated skills in an institutional / educational environment utilizing a customer-oriented and service-centered attitude.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential donors, including prospecting, lead generation, and pipeline management.

Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on business development activities and progress toward goals.

Extra Skills. Experience with a CRM tool.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, presentations, and other fundraising materials to effectively communicate the company’s capabilities to prospective donors.

Lead contract negotiations with donors, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business development role

College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, proofreading and verbal.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint). Experience with Salesforce or other database platforms

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and the ability to form and sustain working relationships within a complex organization.

Experience demonstrating accountability and follow-through

As new, targeted campaign funding opportunities are identified; write, and develop campaign collateral pieces and corresponding proposals and impact reporting

Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications

Ensure that all legal reporting requirements are satisfied

Exemplary communication abilities and outgoing

Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail

At least one year of fundraising experience

Raise funds for CHOYCES and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets

Salary based on experience. This is a part-time, contract position; benefits are not available.

Ensure that the organization follows all reporting requirements related to fundraising and grants.

Report to the executive director and work closely to support the Board of Directors.

Develop and execute annual and multi-year fundraising strategies.

Grow annual revenue in the short-term, while diversifying the donor sponsorship base towards long–term sustainability.

Provide direct support and resources for the fundraising committee and board members with fundraisers and events.

Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, CiviCRM) and data set management

With input from Directors, write and manage a cohesive communications strategy to be used across the org

Manage fundraising events (such as P2P) and campaigns

Issue receipts and/or gift acknowledgements as necessary

Manage FosterClub’s network-wide digital asset library.

Create and manage shareable assets for third-party fundraising (including webpages, flyers, graphics, calendars, etc.)
