Cure SMA is seeking a dynamic, driven, and sophisticated professional with a track record of peer-to-peer fundraising success to join our team. With direction from the Director, Development & Events, this candidate will be responsible for success and growth of our Walk-n-Roll program and roster of participating events. This position will lead and execute an event portfolio of participants and teams for Walk-n-Roll in order to achieve fundraising goals and cultivate meaningful relationships.
The ideal candidate will model and foster behavior that establishes a culture that values the staff/volunteer partnership, is consistent with the values, goals, and objectives of Cure SMA, and creates an atmosphere of respect, innovation, balance, compassion, determination, collaboration, and dedication to the mission.
This position has an assigned portfolio of events across the country and will work to increase that portfolio by engaging the community to host new events each year. Ideal candidate will reside in the Central US region.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Accountable for the execution and achievement of event portfolio revenue target of up to $600,000 annually.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion.
- Meet the revenue, implementation, and recruitment goals for Walk-n-Roll program in the defined timeframe to generate participant, sponsorship, volunteer, and in-kind growth.
- Ability to cultivate and manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
- Under supervision of the Director, Development & Events, manage event budgets, timelines, logistics as needed, and best practice implementation for all events within the program.
- Build successful relationships with key participants, sponsors, and community leaders as well as existing and new corporate partners.
- Ensure compliance with Cure SMA policies, including employment, event and cash handling, and financial controls.
- Maximize Walk-n-Roll participation to achieve revenue goals by retaining existing fundraisers, attracting new ones from all sectors of the community, and by providing fundraising guidance and support to participants.
- Execute new fundraising initiatives to grow additional revenue both within and beyond existing portfolio of events.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in required education programs and meetings.
- Ensure effective use of Cure SMA resources.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support Cure SMA and the Development Team.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science preferably in Non-Profit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business, and/or Public Relations
- At least three (3) years of experience in peer-to-peer fundraising and donor/sponsor relationship development.
- Ability to effectively articulate Cure SMA’s mission and impact.
- A strong work ethic with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn, essential for a demanding environment that continually strives for excellence.
- Experience working with committees and/or event volunteers is highly desired.
- Knowledge of working in a foundation or other non-profit is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to fundraising events.
- Ability to be an effective, contributing team member and to work collaboratively across departments at all levels of the organization.
- Seven (7)+ years of professional event fundraising experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with a high level of detail orientation and accuracy.
- Experience working successfully in a goal-driven environment.
- Proficiency of MS Office required. Experience working in Salesforce CRM and DonorDrive databases strongly preferred.
- Skilled communicator, with superior interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
Job Information:
Current market information indicates a salary range of $47,800 to $76,500 annually for this position. Compensation levels are affected by a variety of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
