Variable Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Summary:
The Dental/Specialty Services Manager is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the assigned services. The manager works with the providers and staff to optimize patient workflow/processes, reduce errors, and ensure access to services and a positive patient experience. In addition, this position participates in overall planning, resource allocation, staff development, monitoring activity and goal setting/achievement for the support staff. The position assists with managing and meeting key performance indicators related to growth, practice operations, patient access/experience, quality, and finance.

three to five years
supervisory experience or other experience leading or managing staff in a hospital or medical/dental practice.
Strong interpersonal, telephone and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required)
Responsibilities:
1. Manages the day-to-day operations of the practices including scheduling, registration, check in, point of service collections, medical records, insurance authorizations, charge capture and billing.
2. Ensures that all front-end processes are clear and well-executed to support a positive patient experience as well as efficient and accurate billing.
3. Manages and reviews provider scheduling templates, hours/days of service, no-show rates, and cancellations to ensure appropriate patient access to service based on health system standards.
4. Recruits staff, manages and monitors clerical staffing levels to established benchmarks, participates in staff hiring process, staff orientation, performance reviews and any corrective actions.
5. Assists in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term goals in conjunction with leadership.
6. Measures, reviews, and meets key performance indicators (KPI).
7. Proactively solves problems, administrative issues, or patient complaints in a timely and effective manner.
8. Trains and educates staff to ensure compliance with health system policies and procedures, compliance program and any federal/state regulations.
9. Coordinates systems upgrades and product implementation. Serves as a resource to clerical team.
10. Ensures departments are adequately stocked with supplies and equipment.
11. Meets with providers monthly and works collaboratively with physician leads to develop action plans for meeting or exceeding KPIs.
12. Fills in and performs the duties of the clerical support staff as needed.
Required:

Preferred:
Working knowledge of practice management and electronic medical record systems, Dentrix
Knowledge of CPT/CDT (Current Dental Terminology) and Diagnostic codes
Dental Office Experience preferred
Bi-lingual (Spanish or Portuguese)
RN desired
