Cook Jobs

Prepares general meals to meet planned daily menu. Preparations include, but are not limited to: baking, cooking, mixing, slicing, steaming and cutting. Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned. Supports inclusion and diversity in all dealings with clients, employees and community members.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Completion of high school or a GED and one year’s experience in institutional or restaurant cooking. Possess food service abilities to prepare, bake and cook balanced meals that meet dietary requirements. Demonstrated knowledge in sanitary food preparation regulations and practices. Ability to perform mathematical functions in order to calculate measurements, quantities, etc. Ability to operate food processor, mixer, oven, stove and dishwasher.

Additional Qualification Requirements

Must satisfactorily complete required pre-employment testing and a background investigation, including criminal history data. Barring reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, employees must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid driver’s license, and the ability to be insured under the district's auto insurance coverage. Must adhere to the use of universal precautions in the performance of job duties in order to minimize the potential risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens. Will be required to be certified in First Aid and CPR.
