JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is seeking a Defense Travel Coordinator for an exciting Air Force program. This is a fully remote position.
The Travel Coordinator directly supports the Program Management Office and works with travelers across this large program to support travel across the United States and overseas. The Travel Coordinator must become knowledgeable about SAIC travel policies and procedures, as well as government contract requirements and Federal and Joint Travel Regulations. This position may require occasional after hours support to amend travel itineraries and support global travelers. The Travel Coordinator must be highly organized and responsive, with the ability to adapt and effectively manage competing priorities in a face-paced environment. The Travel Coordinator must be customer-service driven, with a positive attitude and willingness to help others. Must be able to work both independently and as a team collaborator. Some activities the Travel Coordinator will perform include:
- Occasionally answer phone calls and emails after hours to change/amend travel arrangements for travelers
- Other tasks, as assigned
- Provide training to new hires on travel request and expense report processes
- Work with travelers on most effective means of transportation, problem solve, and provide conflict resolution
- Accept travel requests through an automated system; conduct cost analysis as directed by Federal and Joint Travel regulations; process requests for government approval; follow up with the travelers; verify expense reports for accuracy and contract compliance
- Address overseas security concerns with other Program Management Staff
- Assist the Program Office in maintaining/updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all administrative processes and procedures
- Manage the travel authorization workflow from request receipt through expense report and trip report submittals
- Coordinate travel budget expenditures; provide travel analysis and reporting for monthly deliverables
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors and 3 years relevant experience providing customer service, travel, administrative, financial, operations, or program support, preferably to government customers. Relevant years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with employees and government customers
- Ability to thoroughly complete assignments and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
- Financial acumen and application
- Passionate about organization and administrative tasks
- Data entry and data management

- Proficiency in SharePoint
- Federal and Joint Travel Regulation Experience
- Business Technology Experience
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
