Job Title: Travel Supervisor
Location: Orlando, Florida
Department: Crew Resources
Reports To: Director of Crew Resources
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: The Travel Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of Travel Coordinators and managing the travel arrangements for the airline's flight crew members and other company personnel. The primary objective is to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and seamless travel logistics for crew members while adhering to airline policies, regulatory requirements, and crew member preferences. This role is critical in maintaining a high level of service to the crew members and supporting the effective operation of the airline. The successful candidate will be a dedicated leader with creative problem-solving skills and an extensive background in travel coordination.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the team's schedule to ensure 24/7 operational coverage
- Work closely with the Crew Scheduling team to align crew travel arrangements with crew schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure for crew members
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve the team’s performance
- Manage a team of Travel Coordinators supporting 24/7 airline operations
- Maintain effective communication channels with crew members, travel vendors, and internal stakeholders to provide assistance and address concerns
- Process the team’s payroll in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Serve as the main point of contact for crew members regarding travel-related inquiries and issues
- Monitor changes in crew schedules and adjust travel arrangements accordingly
- Control crew travel expenses, including airline tickets, hotel rates, and transportation costs
- Oversee all aspects of crew travel, including flight bookings, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and other related arrangements
- Administer the initial and recurrent training programs for the Travel team
- Implement strategies to optimize travel-related expenditures without compromising crew member comfort and well-being
Supervisor Responsibility: Yes
Work Hours: Typical office hours, occasionally providing support for a 24/7 operation when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience supervising a team
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and effectively
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a travel and/or airline position
- Proficient in using travel management systems
