Data Support Analyst - Remote | Wfh

We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Data Support Analyst (Systems Analyst III) to join our dynamic IT Operations team at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). As a Data Support Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring that our applications are running smoothly and efficiently to support the important work of protecting children, the elderly, and people with disabilities from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Reporting to the Data Support and Tools Team Manager, you will be responsible for performing complex (entry-level) data systems analysis, data development, and ongoing support of applications used by DFPS staff. This includes fixing data issues, administering data, and collaborating with users to analyze requirements and streamline processes. You will work with a variety of technologies, including database structures, Oracle, PL/SQL, and SQL, and will have the opportunity to learn and apply new technologies to enhance our systems.
As a Data Support Analyst, you will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. You will work independently or as part of a team, and will need to meet established timelines with minimal supervision. Your ability to adapt to new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial in this role. Essential Job Functions
As a Data Support Analyst, you will be responsible for the following essential job tasks:
Application Support
Analyzing and researching application functionality to develop technical specifications for database changes.
Conducting impact analysis of proposed database changes to ensure consistency with established standards.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of documentation, ensuring it is well-organized and appropriate for the audience.
Meeting project schedules and communicating progress and issues to the Team Manager and/or Project Manager.
Managing work activities and communicating effectively with management and team members.
Data Fixes
Processing data fix requests in a timely manner.
Utilizing existing data fix templates for consistency and accuracy.
Thoroughly testing all data fixes in a lower environment before executing in production.
Ensuring that new templates are peer-reviewed before executing in production.
